Operations Manager -Northcroft Leisure Centre

This is an outstanding career opportunity with a not for profit charitable organisation committed to providing a diverse and meaningful range of leisure and culture related activities for the local communities in which we serve.

Situated near the centre of Newbury, West Berkshire. Northcroft Leisure Centre’s facilities include a 63-station fitness gym, 25m 6 lane swimming pool and dedicated learner pool, sauna, multipurpose 6-court sports hall, 2 squash courts, dance studio, crèche, Bumpers children’s play area and a 75m Outdoor Pool.

We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic individual who is looking to progress their career into management. This role will be adapted to fit you and your skills to ensure you reach your goals. You will oversee the centre operation and support the management team in the day-to-day running of the centre and in addition you’ll be involved in numerous activities and programs on offer. This is an excellent opportunity for an individual looking to develop within the leisure industry.

The Opportunity

The Operations Manager position is a key position in the Company. Carrying out continuous customer and staff relations services, the position provides the postholder with a genuinely rewarding experience and provides a springboard to a leisure management career in one of the most attractive and fast growing leisure management companies.

  • We are seeking a driven and enthusiastic individual who is looking to progress their career into management. This role will be adapted to fit you and your skills to ensure you reach your goals.
  • You will oversee the centre operation and support the management team in the day-to-day running of the centre. In addition, you’ll be involved in numerous activities and programmes on offer.
  • As an Operations Manager you will be trained to demonstrate full competence in the following areas; Financial reporting, processes and procedures, HR policies, procedures and practice, operational monitoring, facilities management and maintenance, customer service, sales and marketing.
  • To organise and manage the Duty Manager team and to deputise for the Centre Manager as requested.

The Person

  • Experience and knowledge of the fitness, leisure or health industries is advantageous and ideally, the successful candidate will hold a degree in Sports or similar.
  • Applications from candidates who hold a BTEC or HND and have experience in a leadership role are also welcomed.
