Fitness Instructor (Full-Time) | Breckland Leisure Centre, Thetford

Reporting directly to the Sales & Fitness Manager, this position provides the postholder with a genuinely rewarding experience and provides a springboard to a leisure management career in one of the most attractive and fast growing leisure management companies.
The role of Fitness Instructor is customer facing at all times and provides an exciting working day, every day, in a social environment with the opportunity to gain further skills and qualifications.
Additional earning opportunities may be available through the delivery of group exercise classes either on shift or as overtime.
The Primary Objective is to:-
To work on a shift rota system to undertake the daily operations of the facilities.
To undertake Inductions, Fitness Assessments and Personal Programmes in accordance with the expressions brand.
To be aware of all Health and Safety issues within the Centre, and specifically the fitness and health facility, and to constantly implement and assess procedures, drawing attention to unsafe practices.
To guide, care for, and assist all fitness users especially in areas of motivation, well-being, nutrition, and fitness testing.
To work as part of a team to achieve income and sales targets for the fitness and health facility.
To take responsibility for ensuring the health and fitness facilities are clean, tidy and well presented at all times.
To undertake maintenance work as required.
To make sure all equipment and facilities are safe and secure when not in use.
To undertake any other duties as may be required to assist in the running of the Leisure Centre.
Portray a positive image of the Leisure Centre, wearing the uniform provided whilst on duty.
Among the personal characteristics sought the applicant:
Must hold a current Level 2 Fitness Instructor or equivalent qualification or higher
Will have the flexibility to work a shift pattern of early morning, late evening, and weekend hours
Will be able to meet the demands of the role by working additional hours when required.
Will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of how they wish to progress within the Leisure Industry.
Will be hard working, enthusiastic, and reliable.
Will possess good communication skills.
Will be a team player, and enjoy working as part of a team.
Will be able to perform Recreation Assistant duties when required
Must be able to demonstrate a clear identification with all customer requirements.
The position of Fitness Instructor is classed as a regulated post and therefore requires a DBS Disclosure. Where the individual does not already hold a DBS Disclosure, it will be necessary for the post holder to be submitted for a DBS check.
